SWEDISH EDUCATION SYSTEM
The Swedish Educational System is based on tax financed education for all supported by publicly subsidized programs for further education, retraining adult schools and study groups. The private business sector meanwhile offers an advanced education system of further education and self improvement.
There is a great emphasis on research and postgraduate education and all PhD degrees are offered TUITION FREE. PhD students in Swedish universities are accepted similar to their own employees and act as their faculty members while doing research against publicized vacancies.
Sweden like all other EU countries accepts our intermediate (12th Grade Certification) for entry to their undergraduate degrees. For postgraduate degrees the requirement is a minimum of 16 years of education with not less than 2.5 GPA or second division. These requirements are in addition to the normal English language requirements which are at least 6.0 IELTS or above and 80 TOEFL CBT or more. This may vary from university to university.
COST OF STUDYING IN SWEDEN:
On average cost of studying at undergraduate level per year is 12-15 thousand euros depending on course and university and the living cost is approximately 7000 to 8000 Euros per year.
HOW TO APPLY:
A large number of courses and study programmes at Swedish universities and colleges are accessible to international students both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Students need to apply online through a dedicated www.universityadmission.se and there are deadlines for each intake.
